The Government of Andhra Pradesh, which is wedded to the cause of educating the meek, weak and to the inhabitants of inaccessible remote regions, is only right in choosing Narsipatnam, a very old Revenue Divisional Headquarters for the purpose. In tune with this our College is established on 20 th Dec' 1984 through a Government Order vide G.O.Ms.No. 306 Edn. Dt. 19.07.1983. The College in due course developed its own campus in serence atmosphere, 4 kms away from the main town, in an extent of 13 Acres with permanent buildings in a plinth area of 1612.8 sq.mtrs.

The College Development Committee with Sri. Ch.Ayyanna Patrudu, the then Former Minister for Technical Education (Now Minister for Forests) as its Coordinator took active role and mobilized a sizeable contribution of Rs. 7.50 Lakhs from the Public and secured an equal matching grant of Rs. 7.50 Lakhs from the Govt. of A.P.under Grameena Kranthi Patham scheme for construction work. The untiring efforts of Sri N.Jaya Prakash Narayana, Sri N.Ramesh Kumar and Sri K.Sambasiva Rao, I.A.S Officers who held Sub Collector positions for Narsipatnam Division along with several other philanthropists who contributed peoples dream come true, go a long way in the annals of our College history.


The Govt. Degree College , Narsipatnam Buildings constructed in an area of 2.5 Acres surrounded with compound wall constructed around the 11.10 Acres out of the total allotted area of 15.14 Acres. An extent of land 1.25 Acres which is a part of Land in the above said Survey Numbers kept in possession of Narsipatnam Govt. Degree College allotted for construction of buildings for Judge Court , Narsipatnam.

The proposals for alienation of land and award of Title Deed in favour of Govt. Degree College, Narsipatnam, Visakhapatnam District have already have been submitted to the District Collector, Visakhapatnam and Orders are awaited.

The Campus is protected with a Compound Wall measuring 850 mts. Approximately costing 10.60 Lakhs. Part of these funds (Rs. 2.60 Lakhs) are mobilized during the General Elections held in 1994 and 1997 from out of the Crucial Balances of the District Collector, Visakhapatnam and the Election Authority / Project Officer, I.T.D.A., Paderu respectively. The balance of Rs. 8.00 Lakhs are mobilized under the FFW Scheme which includes the rice component costing Rs. 4.20 Lakhs. Sri. Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu, M.L.A., Narsipatnam and Hon'ble Minister for Forests and Environment, a Member of our College Planning and Development Council (CPDC) has been a constant source for the steady growth of our College.


To begin with, the College offered Courses in Arts and Commerce with B.A. History Economics Politics and B.Com. A Restructured Science Course B.Sc. with Mathematics Physics Computer Science is added through G.o.Rt.No. 1210 Edn. Dept. Dt. 09 th Aug. 1995 . The Etikoppaka Cooperative Agricultural and Industrial Society Ltd., Darlapudi contributed the requisite Corpus fund of Rs. 2.00 Lakhs. Sri Ch.Ayyanna Patrudu allocated Rs. 2.40 Lakhs in 1996 from out of his MP LADS. A New Computer Laboratory is enriched with 28 systems with advanced configuration meeting the provisions from out of Budget and Additional Special Fee of the year 2001-02.

The second New Structured Course in B.Sc. Electronics in the combinations Mathematics Physics Electronics as per APSCHE proceeding Orders No. 479/ADMn/1-1/2003 dated 30.07.2003 the Course started with affiliation of A.U. Visakhapatnam with the academic year 2004-05 as per the University Letter No. C-II(4) NUG courses / Condl / Affin / 2004-05.

In the year 2007-08 New Restructured Course in B.Sc with Combination of Botany Chemistry Biotechnology as per proceedings Rc.No. 72/Admn.I-1/2007-1 Dated 09.06.2007. The affiliation as sanctioned vide Proc. Rc.No. C-II (Sup) / New UG/Restructured Course / 2007-08 Dated 28.12.07.


The College is admitted into the U.G.C under 2F / 12B with effect from 16.02.1993, which enables the Institution to get financial assistance.

The Library cum Reading Room is built with a 160 Sq.mtrs. plinth from out of the IX Plan Financial Assistance of Rs. 4.00 Lakhs provided by the U.G.C with a matching component of Rs. 0.60 Lakhs from the College.


I am happy to inform you that our college is accredited at B+ Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council, NAAC located at Bangalore , a UGC sponsored agency. I am proud to announce that among the Rural Colleges in India our College attained the premier status in getting nationally accredited at B+ Grade.
