About the Rector

Prof. Pulipati King, Professor of Chemical Engineering, is currently serving as the Rector of Andhra University.He joined in the department of Chemical Engineering, Andhra University as lecturer in the year, 1994 and eventually promoted as Associate Professor in the year 2000 and as Professor in the year 2006.

He has so far 31 years of enormous teaching experience at Andhra University and he has been effectively doing the active research in the fields such as Industrial Pollution Control Engineering;,Ionic Mass transfer; Fluid flow; Biosorption and Acute toxicity respectively. He has successfully guided 26 research scholars for the award of Ph.D degree and 46 students for M.Tech degree so far. He has published and presented 228 the most qualitative research papers with the academic vigour in the various international/national journals and conferences.Moreover, he dynamically held the different administrative positions such as Registrar of Krishna University, Machilipatnam, Honorary Director of UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre of AU,Director of A.U Press and Publications, Chief Warden of Engineering college hostels, Dean of Student's Affairs of College of Engineering(A), Training and Placement officer, Assistant Principal, and also held the other different Academic positions in the University such as Faculty Chairman, Academic Senate member, Head of the department, Chairman of Board of studies in Chemical Engineering, Chairman of departmental Research committee, Member of College Research committee, Member of Board of studies in Chemical Engineering, Member of department committee, Member of Board of studies in Pharmacy of A.U., Member of Board of studies in Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering of JNTUK, Kakinada, and Member of Board of studies in Chemical Engineering of JNTUH, Hyderabad. He was also appointed as the University nominee in the Board of Management of various affiliated colleges of University.

He has received the most prestigious awards like Sugar cane research station Anakapalli Golden jubilee endowment award in 1994 from Andhra University, the Corps of Engineers award by the Institution of Engineers(India) in 2007, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan award for the best academician of the year 2015 from Andhra University, Eminent scientist award-2015 from National Environmental Science Academy(NESA), New Delhi, the Outstanding scientist award-2015 from Venus International Foundation, Chennai, Teaching Excellence Award during Indo-American Education summit-2016 by The Indus Foundation, USA, and the Best Teacher of the college for the year 2016-17 under TEQIP(II) from A.U. College of Engineering(A).

He was also appointed as Member, AP State Expert Appraisal Committee(SEAC,AP), by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Govt., of India, Task Force member, AP Pollution Control Board by Govt., of AP, Expert committee member of AICTE by Govt., of India and District level task force committee by Govt., of Andhra Pradesh for inspecting the various professional colleges in the country and the state, and also appointed as inspection committee member of Andhra University, and JNTUK, Kakinada for giving University affiliation to the various professional colleges in their region.

He was also a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) and a Life member of various Professional organizations like Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), Indian society for Technical Education (ISTE), Indian Institute of Mineral Engineers (IIME), and National Environmental Science Academy (NESA).He actively served as the Chairman of A.U. Teacher's Mutually Aided Co-operative Society Limited, Honorary Secretary of Chemical Engineering Alumni association of Andhra University, Honorary Secretary of Waltair regional centre of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), Vice-President of Lion's club of waltair and Vice-President of AU Teachers Association.

He has enthusiastically conducted various conferences/work-shops/seminars in the department. And he also acted as paper setter and evaluator for various University examinations and also as an Adjudicator for the evaluation of Ph.D thesis of various Universities. He was the astute reviewer for various international/National journals.
