Prof. N. Kishore Babu is currently serving as the Rector of Andhra University and is a Professor in the Department of Commerce and Management Studies at the same institution. Prior to this, the positions of Registrar (Additional Charge), Registrar (In-charge), and Dean of Academic Affairs at Andhra University were held. Known for being a disciplined, experienced, non-corrupt, calm, and composed administrator, he has made significant contributions to the university's administration. On September 5th, 2023, the Best Teacher Award was received from the Higher Education Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

With over 15 years of administrative experience at Andhra University, various leadership roles have been undertaken, including serving as the Head of the Department of Theatre Arts, Coordinator of the Human Rights and Duties Programme, Chief Warden for A.U Research Scholars’ Hostels, Assistant Director of the M.B.A Distance Mode Programme, Warden for A.U Arts and Commerce Hostels, Coordinator for P.G. and Professional Examinations, Coordinator for the Certificate Course on Goods and Services Tax, Deputy Coordinator for the UGC-SAP-CAS Programme-II, and Internal Auditor for IQAC. Additionally, the role of Convener for AP ICET-2022 was successfully fulfilled.

He served as a member of 47 committees on education at Andhra University and was also an Editorial Board Member of several peer-reviewed journals. From 2020 to 2022, he served as Treasurer for the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD), Visakhapatnam Chapter. Currently, he is a National Council Member of ISTD. He is a Life Member of various social and professional bodies. He also served as a member of the State Level Committee (2019 – 2021) on the Credit-Based Choice System (CBCS) and review the syllabus of undergraduate programs in Andhra Pradesh, appointed by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).

With 31 years of teaching experience in M.B.A and M.Com courses and 34 years of research experience in the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies at Andhra University, Prof. Kishore Babu has made substantial academic contributions. Various papers have been presented at national and international seminars, and 12 textbooks have been authored. Over 70 research papers have been published in national and international reputed journals. Under his guidance, 36 Ph.D. Scholars and 5 M.Phil. Scholars have successfully completed their degrees.
