Background

The National Seminar is mainly intended to focus on the study of Atmosphere and Ocean Processes. Research groups from across the globe are actively involved in advancing our knowledge to study the complex interactions between the atmosphere and oceans. These efforts are focused on developing sophisticated numerical models capable of accurate prediction on their resultant impacts on socio-economic sectors well in advance. The objective of the National Seminar is to foster collaboration among scientists from India and abroad, facilitating the exchange of ideas and sharing of advancements in the fields of Atmospheric and Oceanic processes related to climate change.

About The Department

Since its inception in 1948, the department has completed 75 years. The faculty and researchers of this department have been contributing significantly in the fields of Meteorology & Oceanography. Department of Meteorology and Oceanography at Andhra University stands as a dynamic hub of scientific exploration, delving into the intricacies of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans. Offering comprehensive postgraduate programs, the department serves as a nexus for academic brilliance and cutting-edge research. Pioneering research initiatives focus on pressing global issues such as climate change, weather patterns, air-sea interaction, tropical cyclones, and monsoons. The department has Collaborated with national and international institutions. Beyond the confines of academia, this department engages students in enriching fieldwork, internships, and practical experiences, ensuring a holistic understanding of their disciplines.

Financial Support

All participants are expected to meet their TA/DA from their own sources. However limited funds are available particularly for Students, Research Scholars (III A/C train fare only) Young Researchers and Retired Scientists (II A/C train fare only)

Call for Abstracts

Participants willing to present papers are required to submit the abstracts through online by 10-07-2024. The abstract should contain concise form of original research with maximum word limit 250 (excluding title, designations and affiliations). Abstract should be mailed to pjcmetocean2024@gmail.com

Submission of Manuscripts

All participants giving presentations are required to submit the full manuscript not later than 15-08-2024. These manuscripts will be published in a peer reviewed proceedings volume.
