44. UNICEF sanctioned a project to Vizianagaram district titled “Engagement of Young Volunteers
under National Service Scheme in Vizianagaram districtfor Social and Behaviour Change”.

The project was launched on 23 March, 2019 at TLN Sabha Hall, Andhra University,
Visakhapatnam.
45. Andhra University NSS Cell in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Visakhapatnam organised
the District Youth Parliament competitions on 25.01.2019 at Seminar Hall, Andhra University.
46. Four best State NSS Awards under the category of Programme Officer and Volunteer by the
Govt. of Andhra Pradesh on 24.09.2018 at Sri Krishna Devaraya University, Ananthapuram. In
this regard, Dr. G. Prabhakar, NSS PO, SDS College, Shreeramnagar and Dr. P.V. Ramana
Kumar, NSS PO, Govt. Voc. Junior College, Visakhapatna under the category of Programme
Officer and Mr. B. Mahendranath and Ms. K. Jagadeeswari, Dept. of Hindi, AU under the
category of Volunteer received the State Awards for their outstanding contribution to the
community service.
