Technopreneurship Development is the need of the hour for Atmanirbhar Bharat.

A six-day training program on Technopreneurship for sustainable development was inaugurated by Shri R L Narayana, Chairman Investment Committee, ITAAP and Corporate Vice President and location head, WNS Global Services for Vizag and Indore. The WNS is the largest IT/ITES employer in the AP Sate.

The training program was jointly organised by DPIIT-IPR Chair and Institution's Innovation Council Andhra University and National Institute for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Hyderabad. The MSME and Andhra University selected only about 25 most suitable candidates for the program as per the Government scheme guidelines.

In his inaugural address, the Chief guest Shri R L Narayana emphasized that the technopreneurship for sustainable development is the need of the hour for achieving Atmanirbhar Bharat. The youth of our country need to be trained on the technopreneurial opportunities as both State and Central Governments are providing enormous support to promote IP Innovation and startups. This program is very timely and more such initiatives are required to position Visakhapatnam as one of the leading innovation hubs in the country.

Prof H Purushotham, the coordinator of the training program, in his welcome address stated that the University has been creating huge IP and innovation entrepreneurship ecosystem in the campus and the University would be a top-notch university for research and innovation. He has further mentioned that 17 very experienced resource persons will be delivering lectures and industry visits to major entrepreneurial and startup ecosystems in Vizag like AMTZ, APIS, IIMV -Field and a-Hub etc.

Shri Ravi Eswarapu, CEO-a-Hub, explained the facilities and services being offered to potential entrepreneurs and start-ups.

Gudivada Amarnath, Hon'ble Minister of IT, Industry, Infrastructure & Investment, Govt. of AP, unveiled the first of its kind IP Mascot of Andhra Pradesh - 24x7 IP Buddy - "Kittu" at AU Engineering College Visakhapatnam here on 14th November, 2022 during the National Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights - Key for Academic & Industry Excellence in AP organised by Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.

The IP Mascot is an initiative of AU Engineering College powered by Resolute4ip, a service arm of the Resolute Group of Companies with the sole vision of "IP4ALL" and to provide a platform for all stakeholders to connect and get solutions on IPRs. The Mascot has been designed on the line of AP State Bird 'Rose-ringed parakeet'.

IP Buddy Kittu will work with students, startups, MSMEs and interested stakeholders to certify them as "IP Ambassadors" for their institutions and companies.
